TOBIA - Theology of the Body International Alliance

TOBIA: A Short History

Since that first meeting we have met four more times – again in the summer of 2003 in Denver, Colorado, the summer of 2004 in Atlanta, GA, the spring of 2005 near Washington, DC and again in the summer of 2005 in Minnesota (for the board members only).

At each meeting we continue to strive to include prayer, social time, “theology of the body” / Catholic culture type activities (like dancing, hiking, music, poetry, eating etc.), and time for networking and sharing ideas. At the summer 2003 meeting we finalized our name and mission statement.

The fruits of TOBIA over the last 2+ years are too many to list, but it has indeed grown by leaps and bounds and continues to provide a means of communication for those working to spread John Paul II's life-transforming message.

One of the projects that has come about through TOBIA is the annual National Forum on the Theology of the Body which seeks to help those who already know about the theology of the body in general to see how it can be integrated into every aspect of life and study.

The first two Forums have certainly been successful - and we look forward with anticipation the National Forum on the Theology of the Body 2006.  Please join us if you can!

For recordings of the talks which were given at the Forums in 2004 and 2005 please visit www.TheologyoftheBodyMedia.net or www.ourFatherswillcommunications.com.
